On October 3, Akira Igata, the director of our ESRP, made an appearance on Nippon Broadcasting’s ‘OK! Cozy up! hosted by Ichika Shingyou.’ In the broadcast, it was discussed that:
- A bill aiming to establish a Security Clearance system in Japan is being proposed by the end of February. It is considered not only a vital piece of legislation for preventing information leaks but also indispensable for diplomatic reasons.
- There is a demand for international standardization of AI safety, with hopes that Japan could assume a particularly leading role.
