また、東南アジア諸国との協力についても議論が行われました。米中が対立する国際環境において、両国との関係をともに重視する東南アジア諸国は、”Don’t Make Us Choose：DMUC”というフレーズで、どちらか片方に肩入れすることを好まない中、コミュニケーションや協力のメカニズムをインド太平洋で構築していくことが重要であるという論調で一致しました。
