ESRP Director Akira Igata‘s comments were published in the Asahi Shimbun (09.07.2023).
He argued that Japan’s current policies are unclearly categorized as either industrial policies to enhance competitiveness or economic security policies to break away from dependencies on China, and that Japan should focus on the promotion of talented people in light of the current global competition for human resources.
