Akira Igata, Director of ESRP, Research Center for Advanced Science and Technology, The University of Tokyo, appeared on Nippon Broadcasting System’s “Koji Iida’s OK! Cozy up!” (19/8/2024).
In the broadcast, he discussed the LDP presidential election and argued that, given the continuous expansion of economic security topics such as security clearance and active cyber defense, it is important for the next prime minister to be a person who can make a sufficient argument on the issue of conflicts with existing laws and rights.
On the other hand, he also pointed out that current Prime Minister Kishida’s achievements in economic security, including the passage of relevant laws and the realization of administrative systems, are significant.
