Akira Igata, Director of ESRP, Research Center for Advanced Science and Technology, The University of Tokyo, gave a lecture to master’s students of the Princeton University School of Public Policy. (18/10/2024).

Focusing on the topic of Japan’s Economic Security Promotion Act, Akira gave a lecture on the need for technological protection and export control, and trends in Keidanren and other business organisations, major national political parties and corporations, etc. The Q&A session covered the impact of US-Japan-China relations and US policy on Japan’s economic security strategy, export controls, domestic investment controls and the relevance of domestic corporate interests to Japan’s economic security strategy, and the Asian version of NATO, were the subject of lively discussions.

ESPR Young Leaders were also partly present and participated in the discussions.
