Comments by Akira Igata, Director of ESRP, Research Center for Advanced Science and Technology, The
University of Tokyo was quoted in the French media “Le Figaro” on June 6, 2023.
The news article was about President Macron’s opposition to the establishment of a NATO liason office in Japan. Igata argued that it is becoming increasingly difficult to divide Europe and Asia, information exchange is in the interest of both parties, and this is completely different from “Japan joining NATO.”
