ESRP Visiting Researcher Megumi Avigail Yoshitomi’s article titled “Current status and issues in the cellular food (so-called “cultured meat”) industry” was published by The Japan Association for the Integrated Study of Dietary habits.
She argued that the ability of agencies in charge of food safety to devote resources to the social implementation of the industry will affect the promotion of public understanding and the establishment of a safety framework. Therefore, the paper argued that it is important for Japan to have an agency that actively supports the government through information gathering and policy recommendations.
