H.E. Mr. Jonas Gahr Støre, Prime Minister of the Kingdom of Norway, who was visiting Japan, paid a visit to the Research Center for Advanced Science and Technology at the University of Tokyo (07/12/2023)
The Prime Minister was given a lecture by Prof. Sugiyama, Director of the Center for Advanced Science and Technology, and Prof. Harada, Prof. Arita, Prof. Ozeki, and Project Lecturer Igata on current economic security issues, in addition to each professor’s area of expertise, including advanced science and technology such as AI and quantum technology. AI and quantum technology are being treated as important technologies in the economic security policies of various countries.
Furthermore, ESRP Young Leaders participated in this workshop to join in on the discussions as well.
After the lecture, the Prime Minister visited the laboratory of the Institute for Advanced Study, where he received a detailed explanation of advanced technologies. He also experienced state-of-the-art equipment such as the SRS microscope in Prof. Koseki’s laboratory.
