ESRP Director Akira Igata participated in the Brookings Institution seminar “Redefining US-Japan-Korea relations in an era of economic security” on 13.12, 2023. ESRP Director Akira Igata was a featured speaker.

Focusing on the topic of trilateral cooperation between the U.S., Japan, and Korea, he discussed supply chain decentralization, trilateral information sharing, and critical resources for economic security, and commented on Japan’s import/export policy and other issues.

Redefining US-Japan-South Korea relations in an era of economic security

Center for East Asia Policy Studies will host a group of experts to assess current trends in economic security and their implications for U.S.-Japan-South Korea relations. The first panel will address technological competition with China and the redesign of export controls. The second panel will discuss the efforts to curb economic coercion and sustain a rules-based trading system.
