There is a growing interest in the impact of the issue of Nippon Steel Corporation’s acquisition of U.S. Steel on the U.S.-Japan relationship. In the article, he pointed out that the rejection of the acquisition may discourage Japanese companies from investing in the U.S. and that major questions have been raised as to how the so-called security exception will be applied to investment restrictions.
