Akira Igata, Director of ESRP at Research Center for Advanced Science and Technology, the University of Tokyo, participated in the International Workshop on ‘Banning the Importation of Forced Labour Products’ in Mexico City (12-14/11/2024).
He argued that while international discussions on ‘banning the import of forced labour products’, where governments use border controls to stop products that violate human rights, are in full swing, there is a danger that Japan will be the only country to stand still.
